Character summary

Book 1
Sanctuary: The Governor's Daughter

Chief Macka is the sovereign leader of Cora, wielding absolute power over the village and serving as the uncle to Morris and Amarelle.

When Hannah and Danny distribute food and supplies to the villagers of Cora, Chief Macka approaches them to investigate the unauthorized charity.

Impressed by Hannah's generosity and leadership, he gifts her his sovereign wooden necklace engraved with his official seal, completely unaware that she is the daughter of Governor Maximus.

Later, when Riverwell Intelligence agents arrive in Cora with helicopters searching for Hannah and Danny, Chief Macka has his guards detain them for trespassing and causing fear among his people.

He asserts his absolute jurisdiction, interrogating the agents before ordering them to pack their things and leave his territory immediately.

Recognizing Hannah from the agents' wanted photos, he personally tracks her down to Miriam's house to ensure she is not being held hostage.

Upon learning her true identity as the Governor's daughter, he leaves them be, but secretly plots to capitalize on the discovery.

Driven by the ambition of his wife Elara, Chief Macka negotiates a massive two hundred and fifty thousand dollar bounty with Riverwell authorities for their capture.

He sends his guards to quietly seize the couple, but Danny and Hannah manage to escape to Afton just before the raid.

Displaying his calculated greed, Macka then offers a mere ten thousand dollars to other regional leaders like Chief Omari to do the dirty work, intending to keep the vast majority of the Governor's fortune for himself.

Book 4
Sanctuary: Legacy

Years later, Chief Macka attends the monumental inauguration ceremony in Riverwell City.

He is publicly welcomed by Hannah during her speech and receives loud applause from the crowd, signifying the new era of unity and peace between the incorporated capital and the Unincorporated Territories.
