Born during Sophie's abusive marriage to Mark Rivil, Fender is actually the biological son of Danny Buholo from a secret affair.
As a fragile five-month-old infant, he is constantly held tightly by his terrified mother, who desperately tries to shield him from the escalating dangers around them.
He is brought to the TV-Well studio lobby when Sophie and Elise arrange the highly classified DNA test that ultimately confirms Danny's paternity.
During Mark's violent break-in at their secure apartment, Sophie complies with Mark's terrifying orders and places little Fender on the carpet to protect him just moments before she is tragically shot to death.
Following the horrific murder, Danny and Hannah win full legal custody of Fender and his older sister Lynn, officially changing his last name to Buholo to permanently erase Mark's lineage.
Fender lives happily and safely in the quiet sanctuary of the Buholo estate, completely shielded from the political chaos of Riverwell City alongside his loving family.
