Miriam
Danny's fiercely loving and resilient mother who escaped an abusive marriage in Afton, built a peaceful life in Cora, and risks everything to protect her son and Hannah.
Character summary
Years ago, Miriam escaped her violently abusive husband, Victor Buholo, fleeing from Afton to Cora with a three-year-old Danny to avoid execution after she sought comfort with another man.
She builds a modest but deeply loving life in the village of Cora with a new partner, eventually having two more children, Ella and Dario.
When Danny unexpectedly returns to Cora with a runaway Hannah, Miriam is overjoyed to see her son and warmly welcomes Hannah into their humble home, slaughtering a goat for a celebratory feast.
Upon discovering that Hannah is actually the Governor's daughter, Miriam is initially terrified of Julian Maximus's wrath but firmly embraces Hannah as family, deeply grateful that Hannah saved Danny from homelessness.
When Riverwell helicopters swarm Cora searching for the fugitives, Miriam refuses to be left behind, bravely risking her own permanent death sentence in Afton to flee into the mountains and stay by her son's side.
Following Hannah's devastating poisoning and miscarriage, Miriam travels all the way to Riverwell General Hospital and fiercely stands her ground against an angry Governor Maximus just to check on Hannah's condition.
Rescued from the hospital lobby by Jasmine Maximus, Miriam is provided with a luxury hotel room and an immediate visitation pass to see Danny in Riverwell Central Prison.
During the prison visit, she provides a devastated Danny with crucial updates about Hannah's survival and fiercely reassures her son that the tragedy was not his fault.
Miriam proudly attends Danny and Hannah's grand wedding at the Riverwell Plaza, sitting in the front row to celebrate the beautiful union that survived against all odds.
